This intermediate yoga class guides you through some standing balances and a flow sequence which features the flamingo. It focuses on hamstrings and strength in the legs in particular, but the whole body will enjoy some movement. It begins and ends with calming breathing.
You may want something for under your knees like a folded blanket, and a yoga block or firm cushion for sitting on.
The class is suitable for those with yoga experience at intermediate level. I demonstrate the flamingo with the heel of the foot just above the knee on the opposite leg, but you can also put the raised leg lower down, on the foot of the standing leg instead, for a bit more balance stability.
